One Little Word - January

I have been working out the details for my word for this year, and I think I have a blueprint I’m satisfied with.  Listed below are the areas I will focus on:

  • Health and Self-care
  • Personal and Spiritual Growth
  • Relationships
  • Finances
While all of these are on different levels on my priority scale, they are all equally important for my well-being and for attaining a sense of balance in my life.  What I plan to do is really focus on each area for three months at a time.  That’s not to say I’m going to forget about everything else, but I have a tendency to try to be everything to everyone and do everything to perfection and then beat myself up when it’s not perfect.  By focusing on a little bit at a time, I hope to have a good balance of it all by the end of the year.

  1. I really like the way you have decided to break your One Word for 2013 into four areas of focus, each for a quarter of the year. That is a very organized approach and organization really helps one to stay focused, don't you think? Good luck and I will be looking forward to your monthly updates to see how it's coming along!

    1. Jane, I really think my plan will work for me this year. I've learned I can't do everything on my own.

  2. You've made me think about my own approach to my One Word. I like how you broke it up into specific areas of focus. Will look at my own over the course of the next week.

    1. I'm no expert, Vernette, but give it a shot and let me know how it works for you.

    1. They're hard for me, too, but I'm committed to seeing this through.

  4. Hi! Like you, I've written down specific goals on the different areas I'd like to improve on this year. With my one-word as an umbrella to cover my goals, I check if I'm on track on those different areas. It really helps to get as specific as you can and write them down. Wishing you the balance that you are seeking in the different areas of your life!
